Tuesday 5 March – Wreath-laying Ceremony (12.30pm)
To mark the anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising of 1959, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet and Tibet Society will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial to Innocent Victims of Oppression, Violence and War, located by West Door of Westminster Abbey. The short service commences at 12.30pm. All welcome.
Sunday 10 March – Tibet Freedom March & Rally (from 1:30pm)
Gather from 1:30pm on Richmond Terrace, London SW1 (opposite Downing Street). March starts at 2:30pm. Rally from approx. 4pm outside the Chinese Embassy, 49-51 Portland Place, London W1
Sunday 10 March: Tibet Uprising Commemoration (doors open 5:30pm. Until 9pm)
An evening event commemorating the anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. The evening will consist of talks, film, music and interactive events on Tibetan culture, history and campaign actions. Refreshments will be available.
Venue: Mahatma Gandhi Hall, Indian YMCA, 41 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6AQ.

Return from Rewalsar, a talk by Tibet Support Group York organisers Dee and Rowena, on their recent visit to Rewalsar and an update on the community project supported by the group. Located in Himachal Pradesh in northern India, Rewalsar is home to many exiled Tibetans and is a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhism.

Saturday 25 February: Losar Fundraiser; London
Tibet Society will host a Losar Fundraiser for supporters and members of the Tibetan Community. An auction of Tibetan goods will be held. Proceeds from the auction and from the door will go to Tibet Society.

According to the Tibetan calendar the new year will be 2144. It will also be the year of the Fire Bird.

Monday 6 March: Film – A Cave in the Snow; York
As part of International Women’s Week, Tibet Support Group York will be screening the film A Cave in the Snow. The film is the remarkable story of Western Tibetan Buddhist nun Tenzin Palmo and her quest for enlightenment.

Tuesday 7 March: Tibet Flag-raising ceremony; Northampton
The 18th annual flag-raising ceremony in Northampton. A ceremony will be held at the Guildhall, with special guests Chonpel Tsering, the Dalai Lama’s Representative to the UK, and Mayor and Mayoress of Northampton Cllr Christopher and Lynne Malpass. All welcome.

Tuesday 7 March: Lobby of Parliament; London & UK-wide
Tibet Lobby Day is a key opportunity for supporters to call on their MPs to take action for Tibet. You can join the lobby at Westminster or lobby your MP in your own constituency. This year, the Lobby’s key asks call on the UK government to meet with the Dalai Lama and the Sikyong and for the UK government to take action on Larung Gar.

Friday 10 March: Anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising
On 10 March 1959, Tibetans rose up against China’s occupying forces. Thousands were killed and the aftermath led to the Dalai Lama and hundreds of thousands of Tibetans fleeing into exile. Each year Tibetans and Tibet supporters commemorate the anniversary by remembering those who have died during China’s occupation and to call for freedom and human rights in Tibet.
Friday 10 March: Tibet Freedom March & Rally; London
To mark the 58th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising a march and rally will be held in central London. Join Tibetans and Tibet supporters calling for an end to China’s brutal occupation and for Tibetans’ human rights to be respected.
Time: Gather from 2pm. March sets off at 3pm.
Venue: Starts opposite Downing Street, on Richmond Terrace, Whitehall. Finishes with rally outside Chinese Embassy on Portland Place, at approx. 4.30pm.

Sunday 26 March: Raising the Flag & Fun Run; Milton Keynes
The fourth annual Tibet flag-raising event in Milton Keynes. An afternoon of film, music, speeches, a chat over tea and cake and a special flag run around the local lake. The Tibet flag will be raised by special guest The Mayor of Milton Keynes. All welcome.
